who authored the Constitution were prophets who could foresee the challenges of the future. They weren't of course. They would make no claims to the notion that the principles they enshrined were set in stone for the infinite future. To the contrary, they adopted a process to make changes to the Constitution by way of amendment.

The Founders were well versed in human nature and the failures of European monarchy/colonialism. They were also educated by philosophers of the Enlightenment. As enlightened for those times as they were, they also realized that their creation, a representative democratic republic would have to be governed on the basis of the changing dynamics of the future.

Most of them would have had a good laugh at the notion of originalism.
